Projet Archivage, based at LACITO in Paris, aims to provide tools and formats for linguistic and anthropological field data. An interesting feature is the use of XML markup, with a DTD that supports transcriptions, phrasal and word-by-word interlinear translations, and audio references. Some XSL style sheets are provided that illustrate the potential power of XML markup to support web browsing for material of this type, giving access to text and sound.
